What is a Yearbook?
A yearbook is one of the most important records of a school year. It is a comprehensive story of (almost) the entire year (First Day of School until Spring Break). It not only includes pictures of students, teachers, and staff, but it also recaps all the fun and exciting activities that your student participates in at school.
Traditional events like GrizzFest, Fall Party Day, Polar Express Day, and the GrifFUN Run are featured, as well as candid photos from lunch, recess, library, music, art, and PE. Our Yearbook Volunteers strive to ensure each student is in the yearbook at least three times, so every student is represented.
What if my student enrolls at the school late in the year? Will he or she still be included?
Most likely, yes! If your student enrolls after the Fall portrait date, their Spring photo will be used, most likely in a “Welcome New Grizzlies” section of the yearbook. Our Yearbook Volunteers will do everything possible to ensure your student meets the coverage goal of being in the yearbook 3x or more.
How much does a Yearbook cost?
It depends on the number of pages and number of copies the PTA agrees to. The average cost will usually be somewhere between $40-$50 and includes a hardcover yearbook with 150-170 full-color, beautifully designed pages printed on high-quality paper.

How can I order a Yearbook?
The only method of ordering a yearbook is online at www.jostensyearbooks.com. Search for Michael Griffin Elementary and follow the steps on screen to complete your order.
I can't remember if I ordered a Yearbook. Can you help?
Yes, please visit this Google Sheet to see if your student's name is on the list for purchases. Certain details have been omitted to protect privacy. This list will be updated on a weekly basis.

What is a Recognition Ad and how do I purchase one?
Recognition Ads are a great way to celebrate your student and usually include a photo of the student and a celebratory message for all they accomplished in the year. They are 1/8th or 1/4th page in size and can be designed by you or a member of the yearbook staff.
Recognition Ads can be purchased at the same link as the Yearbook (www.jostensyearbooks.com). You can purchase at any time until the deadline (usually early February).

What is the deadline to order Yearbooks and Recognition Ads?
The deadline to order a Recognition Ad is usually in early February.
The deadline to guarantee your copy of a Yearbook is usually towards the end of February. After this, a limited number of copies will be available to order on a first come/first served basis.
Don’t delay - order today! The earlier you order, the better the price, too!
When will the Yearbook arrive?
Yearbooks will be finalized during Spring Break and delivered to your student at school near the end of the school year.
What is Yearbook Signing?
A Yearbook Signing Event is usually held around the time books are sent home. This is after school in the Gym and provides students a chance to have their Yearbook signed by friends, teachers, and staff so that they have a reminder of the special people they met during the year.
